Summer in Latvia is a magical time. It's the warm evenings when the smell of the air mingles with the aroma of wood smoke, and the moment when, stepping into a warm tub, all the hustle and bustle of the day just fades away. We at DM Grupa know that a hot tub is more than a product – it is the memories of your home, laughter with friends and well-deserved rest.

But in order for these moments to remain clear and pleasant, you need to take care of your tranquility. The heat of summer is a test of water quality, so we've put together some tips to keep your hot tub in tip-top shape.

1. Origin of water: Where does your peace come from?

Regardless of whether you fill the tub from a deep well, a well or a nearby body of water, remember – water is alive.

  • Natural water: If you use river or lake water, we recommend changing it after each use. It is full of natural organisms that quickly start their "life" in the heat.
  • Well and city water: It will last longer, but it also needs attention.

2.
Fiberglass
Fiberglass

Glass-reinforced plastic (also known as glass-reinforced plastic or GRP) is a composite material consisting of two main components: glass fiber and a binder (usually polymer resin). Put simply, fiberglass is a material in which the fiberglass provides strength, while the plastic (resin) holds these fibers together and gives the product its shape.

vs. Wood: Two different souls

The fiberglass tubs we offer are the pinnacle of practicality. They have no seams for dirt to hide, so maintenance is a pure pleasure. After use, simply drain the water, rinse with a pressure washer and a non-abrasive detergent - and it will shine like new!

On the other hand, a wooden tub needs "love and moisture" in the summer. So that the wood does not dry out and does not start to crack, there must always be water in it. But remember - if the water stays in it for a long time, the walls should be cleaned regularly so that they do not remain slippery.

3. Filtration – the invisible helper

If you plan to enjoy your vacation for several days in a row, the filtration system is your best friend. It constantly cleans the water from small impurities and ensures circulation, preventing the water from "turning sour". Without a filter, water usually loses its freshness after the first day.

4. Small "rules" for great cleanliness

Sometimes very simple habits do the most work:

  • Shower before swimming: By rinsing off the day's dust, sweat or cosmetics, you prolong the water clarity by 50%.
  • No drink "accidents": Sipping a cool drink in the tub is divine, but be careful not to spill anything in water. Sugar and alcohol are "fuel" for bacteria.
  • A lid is mandatory: When you are not enjoying a bath, put a lid on the tub. It will protect not only from falling leaves and insects, but also from the sun's rays, which promote the growth of algae.

Reminder from DM Group experts: Hot water is a pleasure, but safety comes first. The optimum temperature is 36-39 °C. Remember - never turn on the stove before the water level has reached at least 5 cm above the upper circulation tube! The stove loves dry birch or alder wood, but categorically "refuses" oak or briquettes.

Feelings worth protecting

Imagine: a quiet summer evening, the surface of the water is so clear that the first stars are reflected in it. You know the water is clean, safe and prepared just for you. This belief allows you to completely disconnect from the world.

Take care of your hot tub as it takes care of your well-being. And if you have any questions about equipment, filters or choosing a new hot tub - we, the DM Group, are here to help you create your perfect relaxation corner.

Have clear and warm moments this summer!
